A little humor for the day

Humor is the great thing, the saving thing.  The minute it crops up, all our irritation and resentments slip away, and a sunny spirit takes their place. – Mark Twain
I'm sure I'm not the only person who has experienced an irritating day.  You know, the kind of day where no matter what you try it just doesn't go as smooth as you'd like.  Throwing a little laughter or humor into the situation helps to lighten the mood.  It helps you step back from the irritation and take a fresh look at things.  Staying away from bad news helps too!  I'm trying desperately to find the humor in the pending snow storm............!  When nothing else seems funny, I find a little laughter watching Dessy pose for the camera.  From the beached whale look to the big grin - there's always something to smile about with her around.

Happy Tuesday - thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy the moments of humor in your day!

Negative to positive transformations

Scared and sacred are spelled with the same letters.  Awful proceeds from the same root word as awesome.  Terrify and terrific.  Every negative experience holds the seed of transformation. – Alan Cohen
Listening this morning to the rain falling brings a smile to my face.  Spring is here and the rain will wash away the brown ground and the remaining snow.  The transformation from winter to spring is a welcome stage.  I know...Sarah, sorry I'm doing one more day of weather updates!

There is so much to look forward to when Spring rolls around, it will be terrific!  While rain limits our activities, that is if you're like me and you melt in the rain.  But...as the saying goes - April showers bring May flowers.

Happy Monday - thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy the moments today when you transform your negative thoughts into positive ones!

Ah...the melting snow

Recharge break

Sometimes the most urgent and vital thing you can possibly do is take a complete rest. – Ashleigh Brilliant
There are times in life when you perform better after allowing yourself time to take a little rest break.  Other times, like the energizer bunny, you seem to have so much energy you can just keep going and going.  Those times taking a break isn't necessary.  The important thing is to recognize the need to rest when your body tells you it is time to do so.  It helps your brain and your body recharge and refresh.  It doesn't have to be long, just enough time.  Take it from a cat - a catnap every now and then is a good thing.  Well...at least Dessy thinks so!

Happy Saturday - thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy the moments you take to completely rest and recharge!

Not a care in the world, just total recharge mode!

Stretching your opinions to grow

The recipe for perpetual ignorance is:  Be satisfied with your opinions and content with your knowledge. – Elbert Hubbard
Take a look at the pictures below.  What do you see?  Do you see interesting things or stuff you wouldn't take pictures of?   Do pictures have to capture things others would be interested in or should they mean something to you?  Do you think our first impression of something new brings out our core beliefs or new ways of looking at things?  We are creatures of habit.  How do we get past that and see things from a different perspective?  How do we stretch our opinions?  If we take the time to look past our initial impression or core beliefs, we are stretching them to the point where we're willing to learn more and do things differently.  What do you do to stretch your opinions?  What do you do to stretch  your knowledge?

Happy Friday - Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy the moments today where you stretch your opinions and grow your knowledge ~

You have to look really close - this isn't just my
backyard, there are 13 deer in the distant field.

Why would a cracked egg be picture worthy?
Maybe no one else would want to take a picture of
it, but the cracked lines looked cool to me.

The colors remind me of all the years we've colored
eggs together.  My kids and their perspectives
keep me on my toes and their thoughts are refreshing
and challenging at the same time.  They keep me growing
along side them.

When mom brings out the camera - it's time to goof off,
look at things in a different way, learn something new.
I love these two girls!

Foggy Thinking

Sometimes we need the fog to remind ourselves that all of life is not black and white. – Jonathan Lockwood Huie

Happy Thursday!  Thanks for stopping by!  The fog is just shades of black and white.  My brain's gray matter is a little foggy today - but that's okay, isn't black and white either.

What about you?  Do you like the foggy moments in life?  Wishing you enjoyment in your foggy moments today!

Science in action

Reason, observation, and experience; the holy trinity of science. – Robert Green Ingersoll
We as humans can learn a lot about science watching animals interact in nature.  They seem to quickly reason by observation and then by testing out their theories they experience and simply know what to do next.  They don't dwell on the outcome, they just accept it and move on.  For some things, I'd say we as humans would be better off if we processed situations like that.  Just think of a time when you reasoned about something, observed, tried your theory out, discovered that you were on the right track and accomplished the task at hand.  Wasn't it easy to accept and move on to the next thing?  Gotta love science in action.

Happy Wednesday - thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your moments of science today!

Normally Copper leaves the hamster alone,
this day he reasoned himself into observation mode.

He got bored for a few minutes and walked away.

Tried another angle and then finally walked off.
Experience told him - the ball wins for keeping
his prey safe!

Happy Tuesday

You can’t help respecting anybody who can spell TUESDAY, even if he doesn’t spell it right; but spelling isn’t everything.  There are days when spelling Tuesday simply doesn’t count. – A. A. Milne
April is here.  I didn't want to fool you by posting that yesterday!  Yesterday was truly April 1st.  Today is Tuesday.  I've spelled it right, I'm sure of it.  It isn't Two's Day.  Maybe it is...I have two cats who love to look cute.  They are cuties?  Cuties looks like it is spelled wrong to me.  Maybe that depends upon your size, either you look cute in the box or you don't?  I guess it doesn't count unless it matters to the animal trying to fit.  Oh bother...

Happy Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by~
