Life itself is a quotation. – Jorge Luis Borges
Week #44 – 49 Weeks ‘til
I’m 50 – Ready, Set, it’s all about A FOCUSed plan to get
there! Only 6 weeks left.
Think about the quote above for a few minutes. Do you think it is accurate? Is your life worth quoting? Are the words you share daily worth repeating
by someone else? Do you wonder if anyone
ever quotes you?
How many times have you heard people say, “Don’t quote me on
it.” Maybe that’s why by definition, Ambrose
Bierce has been known to say. "A quotation is a noun meaning the act of repeating
erroneously the words of another." Maybe that is in reference to all those quotes out there by ‘Anonymous’ or ‘Unknown’? Who knows, but it does make me wonder?
A
search on Google says: "A group of words
taken from text or speech and repeated by someone other than the original
author or speaker."
Frankly speaking, I love quotes. I love the idea that someone thought that whatever
another person said, it was worth capturing in those cute little quote marks. “…” Quotations
make me think deeper and longer.
Sometimes the quotes make me step back and ponder or reflect, or confirm,
or motivate, or calm down, or just be and embrace change. Quotes can also inspire, and that’s really cool
in my book.
So, here we are at week 44!
In just 6 short weeks the big day will be here. Just like Autumn rolling in, there’s no
stopping it. So let’s get inspired with
10 of my favorite quotations on life changing.
Ready, set, focus!
“20 years from now you will be disappointed by the things
you didn’t do than by the one’s you did.
So throw off the bowlines. Sail
away from the safe harbor. Catch the
trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream.
Discover.” – Mark Twain
“One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it’s worth watching.” – Unknown
“If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do
what I am about to do today?” – Steve Jobs
“Live as if you were living for the second time and had
acted as wrongly the first time as you are about to act now.” – Viktor Frankl
“Today is the first day of the rest of your life.” –
Anonymous
“To create more positive results in your life, replace ‘if
only’ with ‘next time’.” – Unknown
“In terms of days and moments lived, you’ll never again be
as young as you are right now, so spend this day, the youth of your future, in
a way that deflects regret. Invest in
yourself. Have some fun. Do something important. Love somebody extra. In one sense, you’re just a kid, but a kid
with enough years on her to know that every day is priceless.” – Victoria Moran,
Younger by the Day: 365 Ways to
Rejuvenate Your Body and Revitalize Your Spirit
“All changes, even
the most longed for, have their melancholy, for what we leave behind us is a
part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter into another.” –
Anatole France
“We must learn to view change as a natural phenomenon – to anticipate
it and to plan for it. The future is
ours to channel in the direction we want to go…we must continually ask
ourselves, ‘What will happen if…?’ or better still, ‘How can we make it happen?’”
– Lisa Taylor
“If we can recognize that change and uncertainty are basic
principles, we can greet the future and the transformation we are undergoing
with the understanding that we do not know enough to be pessimistic.” – Hazel Henderson

worth quoting” – Me
PS – Photography moments.
As the season change, I purposefully tried to capture changes in the
plants I’d been admiring all season. Change
is easy to capture in film in the form of before and after. Or should I say, “that was then, this is now”?
