Value of doing nothing

Don't underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can't hear, and not bothering.  ~Pooh's Little Instruction Book, inspired by A.A. Milne
December is upon us.  If you're a person who celebrates Christmas and all the festivities that go along with the preparation for the day, December can be a very busy and stressful month.  Yesterday we decided it was time to make the cats happy and put up the Christmas tree.  Normally, per our tradition, it would have been put up the weekend after Thanksgiving.  We didn't get stressed about not meeting that traditional deadline.  We just waited until there was a more quiet afternoon to do it.  I would have traditionally rushed to get every decoration out and then complained about how tired I was.  Instead, after the tree was up, I just sat in the quiet and watched the cats rediscover the tree.  After all, do we put up the decoration to enjoy the stress or for enjoyment of the season?  Maybe today, I'll add a few more decorations, put away the rest of the boxes and give myself permission to say "enough is enough".

I like Pooh's advice.  Just sit, do nothing and don't bother with the stress!

Dessy on the prowl...what's that big
green thing up there?

Not very tasty, but it is a must to chew on it to verify!

Lights and movement...Dessy enjoying
doing nothing to help the process!

Ah...Tizzie remembering what it is all about -
sitting under the tree and relaxing!

Enjoy the sparkles of the season!

A dog's view - nothing like just lounging around
and listening for the sounds of things he can't hear!
